Responsibilities

Full Time Physician Assistant

  • Provides comprehensive care to a select population of patients in the specialty 
  • Performs age appropriate physical assessments, evaluation and treatment for primary care patient base seeking services from the organization
  • Takes history, including chief complaint, presenting illness, past medical history and interval history. Performs age appropriate physical exam as it relates to chief complaint
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced Emergency Department
  • Ability to work with acutely ill patients and families doing medical histories and medical reconcilliations
  • Ability to work with Physicians, AP's and nursing staff to assista with admissions through the emergency department
  • Orders lab studies when indicated. Identifies differential diagnosis. Assesses severity of patient’s illness and establishes need/time for patient evaluation. Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings in the history and physical in order to establish a diagnosis. Performs tests and procedures as directed by diagnosis
  • Establishes age appropriate plan of care related to patient’s identified problem, including medication, diet, therapeutic procedures, etc. Consults with other health team members regarding proposed treatment guidelines as necessary

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of Physician Assistant experience preferred
  • Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts board of registration as a Physician Assistant
  • Graduate of an Accredited Physician Assistant Program, Masters level preferred
  • Maintains BLS certification, professional certification as appropriate
  • Knowledge of various software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) - Specifically Medi-Tech and or Epic
  • Flexibility with schedule to be available to meet the needs of our patients
  • Ability to quickly learn in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
